Multi-grade teaching is when one teacher teaches more than one grade all in the same classroom at the same time
Remotenes and poverty are still the main reasons for the dropouts in African schools
In Zambia, Uganda, Lesotho, and Namibia education would not have been possible unless multi-grade education was used.
Multi-grade teaching can be seen as inferior and some people going to try to replace it with normal teaching methods.
National education policies focus on mono-grade teaching, with teacher training resources, including curricula and textbooks, developed only for single-grade class structures.
Multi-grade education may help students and teachers in Africa to reach the Millenium Development Goal.
In 2009, 32 million children in did not attend school in Sub-Sahara Africa.
A lot of these children are girls who come from poor rural and urban areas, were disabled or belonged to post-conflict groups.
How are the US participating in all this? Is there any way that normal citizens can be of help?
ReplyDeleteDo you believe that a multi grade education would be a positive thing in our educational system? Why or why not? In some small private schools in our country, this type of multi-grade learning is already occurring.
ReplyDeleteIn addition to the country of Africa reaching it's "Development Goal", how else might that teaching structure benefit the children in Africa?
